DESCRIPTION:Wildlands Conservancy - Get Out! for Wellness: D&amp\;L Northam
 pton Trailhead\, Canal Street Park\, Northampton\n\nThanks to the Delaware
  and Lehigh National Heritage Corridor\, PA DCNR and other partners\, this
  part of the towpath was restored just 2 years ago. This is an-out-and-bac
 k hike. The treadway is grass\, packed earth and macadam—all fairly leve
 l—this is a towpath! We’ll cross the Hokendaqua Creek in Northampton w
 here the western end of the Nor-Bath Trail intersects with the D&amp\;L. W
 e’ll cross an “informal overflow” for the Lehigh canal\, and then cr
 oss the new walking bridge. Near here we’ll see the remains of the iron 
 bridge built by the CNJ railroad in 1884. At one and a half miles we’ll 
 see the faint remains of Lock #6 which was destroyed in the 1980 flood\, a
 nd the nearby Feeder Lock\, plus the remains of the dam for that lock. Jus
 t before the turn-around point near the Hokendauqua Bridge\, there’s a p
 ond with seasonal flowers.\n\nWear comfortable footwear. There are portabl
 e bathrooms near the D&amp\;L’s North Catasauqua Trailhead at 1.2 miles 
 from beginning of our walk. Dogs on leash are welcome. This trail is share
 d by bicyclists\, runners\, and walkers.\n\nThis walk is free and is part
