Getting to Know the Delaware – Boat and Hike Trip

Lehigh Valley Greenways - Getting to Know the Delaware – Boat and Hike Trip
< Back to Calendar
October 09, 2016 - Begins at 2:00 PM

Hosts: Nurture Nature Center and Wildlands Conservancy

Learn about the Delaware River and how to be flood aware with Nurture Nature Center. Then join Wildlands Conservancy for a boat and hike trip! After repeat flooding in 2004, 2005, and 2006 in Easton, Nurture Nature Center was founded to educate the public about flooding. Flooding is a natural occurrence and is likely to happen again. There is no better way to learn about the river and how we can be prepared for flooding then by enjoying a fun boating trip lead by the Wildlands Conservancy. We will boat 3 miles along the Delaware River from Scott Park to Wy-Hit-Tuk Park. Wildlands will provide all the canoes, life vests, and safety staff to help you enjoy your paddle down the river. We will then hike back along the D&L Trail: Delaware Canal towpath to Scott Park in Easton.

Reserve your spot today! Pre-registration required – RSVP here. $25 per person. Meeting place is Scott Park, Easton, PA.

Questions – call Wildlands Conservancy at 610-965-4397 or Nurture Nature Center at 610-253-4432.
