Lehigh Valley Greenways - Lehigh Valley Green Retail Program

Support Your Local Trails and Parks

The Lehigh Valley Green Retail Program is a new program of Lehigh Valley Greenways that allows trail and park users, hopefully YOU, to directly support trails and parks in the Lehigh Valley.

How?

When you shop at participating local businesses, you have the opportunity to add a dollar or two (or more!) to your purchase that will be designated for enhancing local trails and parks. Those donations will be matched 1:1 by local organizations to build and maintain local trails and parks for the benefit of all residents and visitors.

Where?

All donated money stays local to support trails and parks in Lehigh and Northampton counties.

You can donate at the following local businesses:

Who?

YOU ! Everyone that uses outdoor recreation or wants to support outdoor recreation for future generations is the audience – Lehigh Valley residents and visitors, from college students to retirees, from marathon runners to occasional picnickers. Trails and parks can be a benefit to all and it takes all of us to create and maintain beautiful outdoor recreation areas!

Program Impact

The funds donated by the public for Lehigh Valley Green Retail are held in a Lehigh Valley Greenways account with PA Parks and Forests Foundation to be used annually when Lehigh Valley Greenways awards mini grants. The application process for these funds will be the same timeline and application as the exisiting mini grant program with these public donations awarded ONLY to trail and park projects in Lehigh and Northampton Counties.

The program started in 2019 so we expect the first round of funding to be awarded in early 2021. Every dollar donated is matched by local non-profits and municipalities to complete projects which multiplies the impact of donations.

The projects supported by Green Retail donations will be specially designated on the interactive map on the LVG mini grant page so donors can see exactly which projects the Green Retail program funded and the results of those projects.
