Wildlands Conservancy – Get Out! for Wellness: Hickory Run State Park, Skyline Trail

This 3.8 mile lollipop trail is considered a moderately challenging route. We begin on Hickory Run Trail, a wide, level surface that parallels a creek. This trail can be muddy in parts, so make sure to wear appropriate footwear. From here, head up Switchback trail, cross a small stream, and then hike the Skyline Loop in a clockwise direction. The views of the Lehigh Gorge at the top are worth the climb. On the way down, head through a beech, gray birch, and pitch pine forest, with a plethora of common Pocono understory and wildlife.

Leashed dogs permitted. Restrooms near the parking lot and also at the LEED certified park office (worth the visit to see the interactive exhibits).

Meet at the parking lot near Stemetz Dam, near the Shades of Death parking lot: 41.02738550163648, -75.7080877657063. Hickory Run State Park, Rt. 534, Albrightsville, PA.
