Event Description: The Ironton Rail Trail (total 9.2 miles) is on what used to be the Ironton Railroad. It’s near the former Crane Ironworks, one of the very first iron works using anthracite coal. This small area spurred the industrial revolution in the USA. Part of the trail is a wide, mostly level, paved 5-mile loop. A beautifully restored caboose stands near the trail, which winds near the historic Saylor Cement Kilns. This is an ADA approved trail.
We will walk 3 miles out and back, or a 5 mile loop.
This walk is free and is part of the Get Out! For Wellness series, in partnership with Lehigh Valley Health Network. Please register online at: https://engage.wildlandspa.org/calendar/event/99.
